Solo Improvisation
I first tried solo improvisation in 2001, when my performing partner moved from Chicago to England. Since then, I’ve gotten bolder, braver and learned a ton of structures that support me on stage. I’m the creator of a solo format called the Sybil, which I’ve performed and taught around the world. I believe the more I give it away, the more others learn how to shine and that lifts us all.
Solo Improvisation is a great way to discover your own authentic voice.
To stretch and challenge yourself.
To experiment.
To devise a solo show.
To scare the hell out of yourself.
I believe that everybody can do solo improvisation. It’s scary. It’s thrilling. It can be hard. It might go terribly. Or you might be brilliant.
But you’re up for the challenge.
